Banco 7, the stand alone operation with a specific brand to the Internet banking business of BCP, Portugal’s leading private bank, and Telecel today unveiled plans for a partnership to create an on-line brokerage and banking service for WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) enabled mobile phones. This will provide the first wireless on-line brokerage service and the most complete Internet banking solution in Portugal.
This agreement will allow Telecel Customers to access the Banco 7 Stock Service, which will enable them to give stock exchange orders via their mobile phone. Telecel will charge customers a standard rate of 7 EUR or 1,404 PTE, whatever the value of the transaction may be.
In conjunction with Telecel, Banco 7 is also launching a new WAP banking service which, unlike other solutions in the market, now enables customers of Banco 7 and Telecel to carry out most of the operations of a regular high street bank via their WAP enabled mobile phone. Customers will be able to carry out functions such as ordering money transfers, paying bills, buying or selling shares and generally obtaining all the necessary information needed to manage personal investments on a day to day basis.
