Telecel today launched the Vitamina R Siemens M35, a prepaid product that is aimed at young people and provides mobile access to the Internet through WAP technology.
Vitamina R, which is available on the new Siemens M35, is resistant to shock, dust and sprinkles of water. It is a small and lightweight handset. This dual band handset has other unique features which including call vibration customised pictures for improved call identification and simplified SMS.
Vitamina R Siemens M35 is available at 29,900 PTE (149.14 EUR) and includes 30,000 PTE (149.64 EUR) of airtime. 3,000 PTE (14.96 EUR) is instantly available when Customers purchase the handset and the remainder will be offered as bonuses of 3,000 PTE (14,96 EUR) in the first nine loadings made at 7,000 PTE (34.92 EUR) or over.
Telecel, which has already brought WAP technology to Portugal, recently launched the second version of its mobile Internet service that now includes features such as a Portuguese and English dictionaries. Also available is the WAP version of the TeleMultibanco service and the first on-line brokerage service which has been developed in partnership with Banco 7.
Analysts forecast that in the future, the majority of Internet access will be via the mobile. Telecel intends be at the forefront of this mobile data revolution in Portugal, and expects that in approximately 3 to 5 years, 20% of its revenues will derive from data transmission, which includes mobile access to the Internet, SMS and fax.
