Vodafone reduces smartphone roaming rates

November 29, 2010

Lisbon, 29 November 2010 – As from December 15, Vodafone Portugal customers travelling in Europe will be able to benefit from new roaming tariff options for accessing e-mail, social networks and other websites on their mobile phones.

The two tariff options (monthly and daily) simply and exclusively extend the terms valid in Portugal and will be available to individual and corporate customers of prepaid and postpaid services, and will be valid in 15 European countries on Vodafone and partner networks (*).

The daily option, suitable for those who only make occasional use of mobile Internet in roaming allows use of the national Internet access tariff (€0.91 a day with 10 MB included) abroad for an additional €2 a day, offering savings of up to 60% on current standard data roaming tariffs and with double the included bandwidth.

The monthly option is more suitable for intensive mobile Internet users, allowing them to use abroad the data included in the 600MB and 2GB Internet Aditivos for an additional €11.98 for each 30-day period.

To subscribe, customers simply need to call 16910 or contact the Vodafone Portugal Customer Care Service.

This initiative is designed to respond to a growing need by users of smartphones (sales of which in Europe are estimated to reach 70% in 2013 compared with the current 32%), enabling them to browse the Internet on their mobile phones in roaming as if they were in their own country. Once again, Vodafone is bringing tangible benefits to its customers, demonstrating the advantage of being the largest mobile community in the world.

This promotion is part of the strategy to differentiate Vodafone’s roaming service which aims to provide its customers with the most attractive and competitive roaming rates in the market.
