October 27, 2015
For the second consecutive year, Vodafone Portugal is the Principal Sponsor of Rock in Rio-Lisboa, to be held on 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 May 2016 in Bela Vista Park. The seventh edition of Rock in Rio in Lisbon will celebrate 30 years of the event, both inside and beyond the festival enclosure.

Partners since 2004, Vodafone Portugal and Rock in Rio will be cooperating again in a special edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the world’s biggest music and entertainment event. In retaining its status as principal sponsor, Vodafone Portugal is reinforcing its strategic focus on music and promises unique experiences for the audience expected at Rock City. In this year’s edition, Vodafone will lend its name again to one of the festival stages and help to curate it, so ensuring the consistency of its positioning in music as a promoter of new trends.

For Mário Vaz, CEO of Vodafone Portugal, “Being the principal sponsor of Rock in Rio again is a privilege, both because of the scale and importance of this project, and because of the relationship we have with the organisation. They have been 12 years of enormous partnership and teamwork proving that, together, it is possible to continue to do more and better for the growth of this great event, which is already part of our national culture”.

According to Roberta Medina, Executive Vice President of Rock in Rio, “We are returning to Lisbon with a celebration of 30 years of history, so this is a very special edition. After Las Vegas and Rio de Janeiro, it is Lisbon’s turn to join the party. We are delighted by the continuing partnership with Vodafone; together the two brands have brought to Portugal the very best in international music, celebrating Portuguese talent, providing unique experiences for consumers and generating concrete results for the growth of Vodafone”.
