Applications open today for yet another edition of the Discover Vodafone Graduates programme, which selects and recruits young people with high potential to join Vodafone. Applications can be made on Vodafone Portugal’s website. All areas are eligible, with engineering, marketing, management and economics among the most popular in previous years.
Since its creation in 2009, the Discover Vodafone Graduates Programme has already recruited over 125 employees to Vodafone. Every year, the Company seeks motivated, dynamic and ambitious young students with Master’s degrees (or who are about to complete them) who are able to play an active role in the development of innovative products and services. Fluency in English is essential and international experience is an advantage.
During the first 24 months of their career in Vodafone, the graduates are mentored by a senior member of the team – a ‘buddy’ – who supports them through their induction. In order to enhance candidates’ professional development during the two years of the programme, the young people rotate through three different business areas: one of them sales-related and the others matched to each candidate’s academic profile. This is a way of acquiring knowledge and versatile skills, enhancing the employees’ development in order to build a successful career in one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies.
Another of the unique features of Discover Vodafone Graduates is the opportunity that employees have after two years to apply to join the Columbus Programme, which provides international experience in one of the 20 countries where the Vodafone Group operates.
